Non-fiction Picture Books

I designed this project with my colleague Professor Laura Martin from the Lander Department of English. The students from her Non-fiction Writing class were asked to write true short stories that are creative, modern, educational, empowering, and meaningful. Then, my students (designers) chose the story to illustrate and design non-fiction picture books. The goal of this collaborative project is to explore the range of the picture book as a way to ease conversations about complex subjects and practice their visual translation.
